Written by veteran songwriter Gary Ewer, Essential Secrets of Songwriting offers dozens of very specific, helpful articles on songwriting's nitty-gritty. Other sites paint broad strokes about the process and songwriting output, which is helpful when starting out. Speed Songwriting provides a downloadable, in-depth guide drawing from both experience of the author, pro songwriter Graham English, and authors such as Berklee School of Music professor Pat Pattison. The members section is full of terrific articles such as "7 Mistakes Keeping Smart Songwriters from Finishing Songs".

Songwriting School of Los Angeles provides a wonderful blog as well as classes in Burbank, CA. You don't have to be local to SoCal to take advantage of either; the blog is free and the basic songwriting course, The Roots, can be taken online.
